ITINERARY

Villalba - Baamonde ---> 18.5 km

Today we'll enjoy a short but very pleasant stage , alternating between dirt tracks and paths , trails and narrow lanes that may be muddy , with very little paved road . The route is practically flat and winds through a pleasant rural landscape . Those who prefer to spread out their journey for the following day can continue to Carballedo, A Lagoa, Miraz, or A Pobra de Parga , all of which offer accommodation for pilgrims .

Baamonde - Sobrado dos montes ---> 39.8 km

This is a demanding stage due to its length , although it can easily be divided thanks to the hostels open at various points along the way . The route takes us along dirt tracks and asphalt through a quiet, sparsely populated rural landscape , sustained mainly by family livestock farming . The day has an undulating profile , and almost without realizing it, we reach the highest point of the entire Northern Way: 710 meters .

Sobrado dos montes - Arzua ---> 22 km

On this final day of the Northern Way, a short and relatively easy stage awaits us. While previous days have been dominated by dirt tracks and rural villages , today asphalt takes center stage , revealing the irregular and unattractive urban development so common in large parts of Galicia. The route joins the bustling French Way in Arzúa ; however, those who prefer can postpone this connection by following a signposted variant from Boimorto towards Lavacolla .

Arzua - or pedrouzo ---> 19.3 km

An easy stage with little elevation gain , where we travel along wide forest tracks surrounded by woods and meadows . As on the previous day, we follow the route of the N-547 , so extra caution is advised when crossing it . Staying in O Pedrouzo puts us at an ideal distance to reach the Pilgrim's Mass the following day , celebrated daily at 12:00 in the Cathedral of Santiago .

o pedrouzo - Santiago de Compostela ---> 19.4 km

Except for the start of the stage , the route winds through an area heavily impacted by urban development : airport, housing estates, highways, industrial zones… Even so, there are no significant changes in elevation ; the climb to Monte do Gozo is gentle and gradual . After so many kilometers, the excitement builds , and nothing can diminish the arrival at the Plaza del Obradoiro , where an unforgettable experience culminates. On a cultural level, the Historic Quarter of Santiago de Compostela stands out as one of the best-preserved on the continent , and the cathedral , which houses the tomb of the Apostle James , is a true icon of Romanesque art , with the Pórtico de la Gloria as its crowning jewel.
